How do I become a Successful Artist?
It’s hard out there for artists (any creative person, really)! Along with needing to be a one-person show - designer, promoter, marketing agent, sales-person, photographer - you also need to have support through all the juggling you do from day-to day. We all want to make it “big” but in the meantime we really want to find our tribe. That group of people that you can go to that just always seems to “get it” without having to struggle through the over-explanation. Who you can bounce ideas off of, who will give you their honest opinion, and that will help you get to where you need to be.
The Successful Artist is a 4 week course that helps the creative entrepreneur build a strong foundation and confidence toward a sustainable living as an artist, while creating connections with a community of like-minded, ambitious people.
What will the course be like?
Each week you (the successful artist) will have 2 sessions to nurture a skill. The first will be an introduction with tools for you to use to build with, and the second an opportunity to present what you’ve created and receive feedback for the future.
WEEK 1
Your Artistic Voice
WEEK 2
Marketing as an Artist
WEEK 3
Art as a Living
WEEK 4
Networking
Get feedback from fellow creatives
Week 1
Our first day we will overview everything we’ll learn throughout the course and you’ll have a chance to meet your fellow creatives. These will be important people to know on your journey as you will all become (even more) confident, successful artists! They are not your competition, they are your community.
Day two will be the intro to the first very important part of being an artist — What is your artistic voice trying to say?
Week 2
Day three, you will have the chance to present your musings to your new community and test the waters with new friends. This way you’ll not only get practice expressing yourself to new people, but receive honest, unbiased feedback on how to articulate your artistic vision clearly.
Day four, you’ll learn how and where to market your vision and the best ways to promote what you love to do.
Week 3
Day five, you will show off your voice and your vision, presenting the most authentic you.
Day six, we’ll talk about how to balance life, your art practice, all while making livable income.
Week 4
Day seven, we’ll discuss networking practices and how this ties in to your art.
Our last day together we’ll graduate from the course by applying everything we’ve built at an art event.
By creating a strong foundation in your practice and bonds with like-minded entrepreneurial artists, you’ll leave this course feeling more self-assured in your ability and your future as the Successful Artist you are.
Who is teaching this course?
Hi, I’m Aliza
Like most artists, I’ve been making art since I was a kid. But I’ve also been selling it since then, too.
When I was 5, I would go business to business with a box filled with my work and sell it for twenty-five cents a piece.
I’ve come a long way since then, helping artists find structure and hope in their work, while boosting their confidence in what they love to do.
I know your dream is as strong as mine. Let’s help each other keep our dreams alive and thrive together.
