Screen

$5,000.00

36in x 24in
Canvas
Mock Resin & Oil

At an art show in Santa Monica I watched as a girl stood before a screen and peered into it.

It made me wonder about her future in this new and fast growing era of digital-everything. How my own childhood was now a far cry from what she was experiencing. Despite how different our environments might have been from each other, I realized that there was still a unifying yearning we all have as children.

I wanted to capture the nostalgia of that childhood longing, especially as young girls. The forever kind of distance between us and what we long to be, look like, and be perceived as. To some the white rectangle is a screen, to others a mirror or a window.

Regardless, it is a portal to the other side of comfort, belonging, and wholeness.
